Castello d’Empúries se encuentra en el Golfo de Roses, donde en los eventos, el arte y la cultura se combinan a menudo con la naturaleza y la historia. Aquí también está la iglesia gótica de Santa María con un campanario románico del siglo XIV, en cuya explanada tomamos una cerveza fría antes del evento. Toda la noche es muy auténtica; la plaza del pueblo está lleno de stands, a donde se puede disfrutar de tapas y vino al aire libre. Los visitantes están relajados y animados - viva la vida ...! Casi no hay turistas. Inmediatamente nos hacemos amigos con un catalán que nos sirve un delicioso chorizo y un manchego con pan. Delante del escenario hay sillas, pero ya están ocupadas por visitantes tensos; nos paramos con otros espectadores detrás de las filas de asien- tos, delante del bar. Así que vemos bien y podemos bailar. Cuando la orquesta comienza a tocar a las 21h30 después de un discurso de recepción de Ingrid, hay un ambiente festivo por todas partes. Después de varias piezas musicales, desde baladas clásicas hasta el himno na- cional catalán, la bola se abre finalmente. La gente se se da las manos en círculo y baila la Sardana, la danza popular catalana.
Cuando la orquesta ha tocado sus últimas notas, el género de música se cambia y continúa con conciertos como los de las bandas punk rock “Crim” y “The Toy Dolls”. Los visitantes están de humor y la suave noche de verano es joven.

The city of Castelló d’Empúries is located on the Gulf of Roses, where art and culture are often combined in events with nature and history. There is also the gothic church of Santa María with a romanesque bell tower from the 14th century, on the forecourt of which we had a refreshing beer before the event. The whole evening seems to be very authentic; in the village square, there are many stands where one can enjoy tapas and wine under the starry sky. Visitors are relaxed and an exuberant atmos- phere prevails - viva la vida..! There are hardly any tourists. We immedi- ately make friends with a Catalan who serves us a delicious chorizo and Manchego with bread. In front of the stage the chairs are already occu- pied by tense visitors; we stand with other spectators behind the rows of seats - in front of the bar, not bad either. So we have a good view and can dance. When the orchestra starts to play at 21h30 after a reception speech by Ingrid, there is a festive atmosphere all around. After various pieces of music, from classical ballads to the Catalan national anthem, the ball is finally opened. The people hold each other’s hands in a circle and dance the Catalan folk dance, Sardana.
When the orchestra has played its last notes, the music genre turns around 160 degrees and it continues with concerts from punk rock bands like “Crim” and “The Toy Dolls“.The visitors are in the mood and the mild sum- mer night is still young.
